Multiple award-winning artist, producer and song-writer ZAKES BANTWINI is taking music to the next level with the ABANTU MUSIC EXPERIENCE & EVENT SERIES.
The Osama hitmaker is creating a space where all people belong.
Inspired by ABANTU, the title of Zakes Bantwini’s 5th studio album, the event is a unique opportunity for people to create and be a part of a moment in culture through music and visual arts.
Abantu which means ‘people’ in IsiZulu aims to celebrate just that…the people.
“Abantu is the people! it’s a reaffirmation of OUR ONENESS and COLLECTIVE POWER as a people. Abantu is about working together towards unity that transcends social class through music and language because it does not see geographical location, race, age, gender, or political views,” - ZAKES BANTWINI co-founder of ABANTU.
The experiences will come to life through the ABANTU EVENT SERIES that will kick off in Cape Town at Cabo Beach.
Performances from Zakes Bantwini, Shimza, Sun-El Musician, Blaxkie, Amanda Black, Msaki, Karyendasoul, Goodluck and others will highlight the music element who will also feature on the album, while Photo Exhibitions and Merchandise will continue the ABANTU series through collaborations with local designers and creatives such as TSHEPO JEANS.

Zakes Bantwini’s 5th studio album ABANTU will be recorded as a 2-part album.
The 1st part of the track list will be Zakes Bantwini’s music and the 2nd half will be the inclusion of his collaborative efforts and features.
Another part of the series will include the ABANTU PLAYLIST, a music playlist exclusively curated by Zakes Bantwini to be distributed to the people on all digital platforms.
The first edition of the ABANTU MUSIC EXPERIENCE & EVENT SERIES will take place at Cabo Beach in Cape Town on 17 April 2022.
