AUBREY QWANA DEDICATES AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS LATE MUM WITH HIS BRAND-NEW ALBUM “MKABAYI”
Afro Pop Sensation Aubrey Qwana finally releases his highly anticipated project titled ‘MKABAYI’.
The album comes as a tribute to the star's late mother who was named ‘Mkabayi ka Mbhabhama’, after the well-known Zulu nations Princess ‘Mkabayi ka Jama’ whom many know played a vital role in the establishment of the clan and the part of history they greatly influenced and contributed to as the Zulu nation.
Aubrey says that his mother acted as the strongest figure in his life and was true to her name. Despite all the hardships faced together with her son, she made a lot of sacrifices for him & showed him love the best ways she knew how, and Aubrey continues to pass on that same love to his daughter today.
Aubrey’s sound has always come across as unique & possesses a specialty in being a sound that’s unheard of when listening to it for the first time.
‘MKABAYI THE ALBUM’ is what Aubrey calls his most personal body of work as he remained true to the artistry and style his been best known for with a few added elements here and there.
Qwana describes his sound as an infusion of traditional African music and contemporary pop sensations.
Part of what has kept Aubrey Qwana ahead when it comes to his music is his ability to collaborate with artists of different genres, cultures, and sounds and really being able to bring together the most unlikely sounds into a multi-platinum seller.
