SARAH TÉIBO BRINGS THE HEAT WITH ELECTRIFYING AFRO HOUSE REMIX OF ‘BABA O’ (Copy)
Bongeziwe Mabandla has never been one to merely walk through the motions of music; he lives within each lyric, each performance, and every journey in between. Now, the award-winning enigmatic spirit of African soul invites fans to step behind the scenes of his acclaimed amaXesha Tour with a newly released documentary film capturing not just the electric performances, but the quiet, human moments that define life on the road.
Filmed across cities and stages during his triumphant return to South Africa after touring Europe, the documentary offers an intimate, unfiltered look at the physical and emotional highs and lows of tour life. "We knew we were about to do something special," Bongeziwe reflects. "Initially, there wasn’t a plan to create a full documentary. But after seeing the footage, we realised we had captured something worth sharing."
Viewers are treated to more than the glow of the spotlight. The film reveals the exhaustion, the moments of vulnerability, the camaraderie between bandmates, and the magic of connecting with audiences at home—where Bongeziwe’s music resonates most deeply. As he puts it, "My music is specific to South Africa. To perform and be fully understood and celebrated by my own people—it’s indescribable."
Complementing the release of the tour film, Mabandla has unveiled a carefully curated merch collection that brings his distinct artistic sensibility off the stage and into wearable form. Expressing his long-standing love for fashion, he partnered with designer Nao Serati for the limited-edition AmaXesha Tour vest, a standout piece that fuses the sounds of the tour with bold visual style.
The collection also includes the amaXesha Necklace, vinyl and CD editions of both amaXesha and iimini, and a signature tote bag. Each item is crafted to offer fans a keepsake that extends beyond the music, an opportunity to carry a piece of the tour experience with them.
"It’s a way of fusing music, art, and fashion, and giving listeners something meaningful to hold on to," Mabandla shares. "The merch is for anyone who felt connected to amaXesha and the tour."
