Brown Dash, also known as Mzekezeke’s righthand man, re-releases his greatest catalogue album “Mthandazo Wabolova” which made him the superstar we grew to know and love. The album became a beacon of hope to all the young hustlers trying to make it and forms part of TS Records’ digital takeover, which sees the legendary label release its classic catalogue albumson streaming services for the very first time. During his illustrious tenure as one of the generals of Kwaito music, Brown Dash released 5 albums and had a string of notable collaborations with the likes of Spikiri, Teargas, Zola, Kabelo, as well as his former stable mates, Mzekezeke, Ntando and Izinyoka. Mthandazo Wabolova had Brown joining forces with Mdu and Guffy, both who played the central production role of crafting the sonic direction of the album. Others who lent a hand on production are Robbie Malinga and Mojalefa Thebe, while Brickz, Sash Man, Mzekezeke and Mdu himself, lent guest vocals.
The old school lyrics and production coupled with funny antics from Mzekezeke’s ad-libs throughout the album make Mthandazo Wabolova a Kwaito classic. With the album making its digital debut, fans will now get the opportunity to relive the fondest of their memories that the music conjures. 2022 marks 10 years since the untimely passing of Brown Dash, but his legacy remains unrivaled and the hits we remember him with, are testament to his everlasting greatness.
