DA MUZIQAL CHEF HAS COOKED UP A STORM WITH MURUMBA PITCH ON OBRIGADO EP

Chef Chenko is isikhathi shaya lento. Following his debut EP release, ‘Muziqal Fietsa’, the chef has cooked up a storm alongside the multi-talented duo, Murumba Pitch to give us Obrigado, his second EP. On his first offering, the multi-platinum record producer and tastemaker from Soweto showcased his diversity by creating a sub-genre which he named ‘skandiano’, which was a merge of Maskandi and amapiano. Da Muziqal Chef has produced some amazing work in the past that helped him cement himself as an artist and producer to look out for. Some of the more popular songs he's worked on are with Amapiano trendsetter, De Mthuda on songs such as Emlanjeni, Jola and John Wick to name a few.

Da Muziqal Chef's love for music was sparked when he had the opportunity to learn how to play drums and became the resident drummer at his church, at the age of 13. He has since kept his focus on building a career in the music industry. He attributes his success in the industry to his focus, hard work and exposure to musical maestros who he got to learn from at the beginning on his career.

Mr Musical Feista has assembled a blend of melodies that might have been classified as Kwaito or Afro-Pop and provided them with the edge of Amapiano. The Super producer has the greatness of turning any genre and merging it with the amapiano famous log drum beat with synths.

For passion that the Da Muziqal Chef has, that comes with the knowledge and skill, you can rest assured that the 8-track EP will once again demonstrate to his crowd that he is not any ordinary DJ and producer.

Da Muziqal Chef has collaborated with the likes of Kabza de Small, a leader in the genre together with acts and industry peers such as Sino Msolo, Sam Deep and Njelic. The biggest collaboration in the EP is with the Amapiano duo 'Murumba Pitch' who have worked with him extensively on this body of work. Their effortless synergy and chemistry is quite evident in this project.

The EP is mostly mid-tempo laid back songs that one can dance and tune to, but also can be enjoyed in a very relaxed setting. Da Muziqal Chef makes a concerted effort to showcase his capabilities and his mature musical palate when he creates music, and it is unavoidable when listening to this project.
