Following the success of his collab with Mthandazo Gatya on the song 'Senzeni’, DJ Manzo SA has since built rapport with his audience regarding the quality of music that he produces. Senzeni has over 5.5M combined views on YouTube, an indication of the reception of the Maskandi inspired Afro-Pop hit. After releasing Senzeni, DJ Manzo SA has gone on to release a few more charting singles which have cemented him as an accomplished producer who is well-versed in many different genres.
The project features talented vocalists who bring different elements to the track list. One thing that is obvious is the detail in choosing vocalists and ensuring that the EP features strong vocalists to carry the songs in such a way that there’s an emphasis on vocals more than there is on instrumentation and beats, which is not extremely common with Amapiano tracks. Generally, an Amapiano track is sold by the beat, not on this EP, the tracks on Legacy are sold by the vocals accompanied by catchy beats and instrumentation.
The EP has tracks that would be categorized under either House music or am piano, but the undertones of the song are classical or have a very strong electronic dance music element.
Legacy really is an EP that is true to its title, it is an EP that is testament to the times of this powerful genre that is Amapiano, it can merge into any genre and style and keep its relevance. This EP is a fusion of Amapiano, House, Classical, Electronic/Dance, MaskandI many other genres which created a beautiful product.
DJ Manzo SA now comes out with a 9-track EP which he titled 'Legacy', a Dance project which features a diverse blend of Amapiano and House tracks which bring forth many different elements of other genres and musical styles.
The EP does not feature well-known vocalists or artists, it has up and coming vocalists who have given the EP its own platform to shine and create its own hype, not over clouded by big names. With no influence, you get to enjoy the album for its artistry and fluency, not an attachment to big names who come with their own established sound. The EP features the following budding artists; Chelsea, Tumisho, Zinia, Priscilla and Sboniso. Each artist brings in their own feel to the project, some of these tracks will launch the careers of some of these featured artists, as some of these will probably gain traction internationally.
