DStv Delicious Festival Powered by LottoStar Welcomes Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo as Headliners for the Saturday, 21 September Show


It is with heartfelt understanding that we announce Janet Jackson will no longer be able to headline the DStv Delicious Festival Powered by LottoStar due to pressing family commitments following the recent passing of her brother, Tito Jackson. We send our deepest condolences and support to Janet and her family during this time of mourning.
 
In communication with the Festival’s Management Team, Janet Jackson’s management team shared the following: "Janet's brother Tito passed away this past Sunday. For obvious reasons, Janet has to cancel her performance at the DStv Delicious FestivJohannesburg, 19 September—The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival Powered by LottoStar is thrilled to announce Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo as the new headliners for the 2024 festival, which will take place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 21 and 22 September.
 
Following recent changes to the festival lineup, including Janet Jackson's withdrawal due to her brother Tito Jackson's recent passing, the Festival organisers have worked tirelessly to ensure the experience remains extraordinary for fans. With Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo set to bring their legendary hip-hop and pop energy to the stage on Saturday, 21 September, fans can expect unforgettable performances from these incredibly celebrated artists.
 
Busta Rhymes is a legendary figure in hip-hop, celebrated for his rapid-fire lyrical delivery and electrifying performances. With 12 Grammy nominations, multiple Platinum albums, and hits like "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check," "Break Ya Neck," and " I Know What You Want," , he is known for his energetic flow and unique style. Busta Rhymes has collaborated with major artists such as Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson. Busta Rhymes’ influence spans decades, and his ability to stay relevant across generations cements his status as one of hip-hop’s most dynamic performers.
 
Jason Derulo is an international pop sensation known for his infectious hits and impressive stage presence. With over 200 million records sold worldwide and multiple Platinum-certified singles, Jason has dominated the charts since his 2009 debut with "Whatcha Say." Known for his smooth vocals, impeccable dance moves, and global hits like "Talk Dirty," "Wiggle," and "Savage Love," Derulo has become a household name. A TikTok powerhouse as well, his creative videos have garnered billions of views, making him not just a pop star, but a cultural icon in the digital era.
 
With her newly released album, Sankofa, Thandiswa Mazwai is still set to bless the stage on Saturday, 21 September. International Grammy Award-winning music superstar Jill Scott will still headline the Sunday, 22 September show alongside leading local headliners such as Sjava and the Soweto Gospel Choir.
 
Alongside these significant acts, this year's DStv Delicious Festival will feature the 30 Years of Creative Freedom Tribute Show presented by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture. The show will honour iconic South African musicians whose contributions to the arts have shaped South Africa’s soundscape.
 
On Saturday, 21 September, the festival will pay special homage to Hip-Hop and Kwaito Legends, with performances by Boom Shaka, Khuli Chana, Toss, OkMalumkoolkat, Morafe, and Cassper Nyovest, among others. This tribute celebrates the iconic careers of AKA, HHP, Lebo Mathosa, Mandoza, Pro Kid, and Riky Rick.
 
Sunday, 22 September, will be dedicated to South Africa's Musical Giants, with performances by Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Loyiso Bala, and more. These artists will tribute icons like Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, and Johnny Clegg, creating a powerful connection between South Africa's past and present musical heritage.
 
The Channel O Dance Stage Celebrated With Johnnie Walker Blonde will feature an electrifying mix of South Africa's top DJs and performers, including DBN Gogo, Kabza De Small, PH, and Shimza. Festival-goers can also look forward to performances by Reason, Nkosazana Daughter, and Zee Nxumalo, ensuring the dance floor stays packed all weekend.
 
In addition to the world-class music lineup, the Proudly South African Delicious Mile will be a culinary adventure for food lovers. Festival-goers can enjoy gourmet offerings from renowned local and international food trucks and stalls, including DimsumFest, Tiger's Milk, Daruma by Oskido, Buns & Bowls, La Mama, and The Gourmet Shrine, among many others. Whether it's a classic burger, mouth-watering pizza, or local favourites, there's something for
everyone.

Ticket Information:
General admission tickets are priced at R1,050, with premium lounge options starting at R3,250 for the Savanna Delicious Lounge (sold out for Saturday but available for Sunday) and R8,350 for the all-inclusive Injabulo Too Lounge on The VIP Terrace.

Please note, festival-goers who have opted to exchange their Saturday tickets for Sunday tickets will unfortunately not be able to exchange them back to Saturday should they wish to do so.
