RED BULL DANCE YOUR STYLE 2021 MZANSI WINNER SHANNY J BECOMES FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN FEMALE TO BE FEATURED ON A RED BULL LIMITED EDITION CAN

Eight dancers across four continents battled it out against more than 60 National Winners from across the globe to secure the final spots in the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final 2022. The highly anticipated second-only Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final will take place on December 10 at Montecasino in Johannesburg, South Africa.

• Mr Popkorn (Popping) from India                                                              • Mikyboo (Popping) from Italy
• Kate (Hip Hop) Portugal                                                                                • Hector Frisken (Hip Hop, Popping, House) Denmark
• The Crown (Hip Hop/Freestyle), USA                                                        • King Davinci (Afro) Nigeria

The eight dancers will join eight invited wildcards including krumpers JR Game from Germany and Outrage from the U.S.A, along with Yoshie (Locking/Waacking) from Japan and Inxi (Voguing/Popping) from Sweden. Toyin (Freestyle) from U.S.A and THE D SoraKi (Hip Hop) from Japan will also take the stage, together with house and hip-hop dancer Perla Perlson from Switzerland and SBHUJWA dancer, SB, representing in his home country of South Africa.

Red Bull Dance Your Style is a unique one-on-one battle format where dancers are challenged with unpredictable music hits from funk, pop, rock, rap, old school classics and more. The competitors must conquer the audience who are ultimately deciding who will rule the dance floor. The World Final in South Africa will crown and celebrate the best dancers on the planet and will be broadcast live worldwide on TikTok.

“I'm looking forward to battling another krumper so I to compare our different interpretations of this genre. I think the best way to prepare for this is by staying calm and experience the moments on stage because once both dancers are enjoying the process, we will have an exchange through music and movement and that makes it all worthwhile.” said Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finalist, Verb from South Africa.

Joining him as the second South African finalist to be in the World Final, S B “I feel awesome, because I am just focused on having fun and adapting to the energy of the battle, I am not focusing on my opponents in any way - I will allow the music and vibe of the battle to lead my movement. I’m happy that sbujwa dance style and culture that comes from Soweto will finally be experienced by the world and I am very grateful to be that first Sbujwa dancer that has this opportunity to push it forward in this way.”
