Red Bull Dance Your Style is making waves in the world of dance as it introduces the top 16 finalists for its highly anticipated South African National Final taking place on the 2nd of September, The Globe theatre at Suncoast. These dancers have not only proven their skills but have also showcased distinctive styles, creativity, and an unwavering passion for dance that sets them apart.
Kabelo Matlou (Pretoria), Benny Matlamela (Polokwane), Joseph Moshobane (Johannesburg), Rushay Prins (Gqeberha), Yolanda Jola (Durban), Luthando Baduza (Cape Town), and Luyanda Mkhonjwa (Bloemfontein) have all emerged as regional champions and are ready to showcase their prowess on the national stage.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there - the competition is set to sizzle with the inclusion of Wild Cards, a dynamic group of dancers who have earned a place in the National Final through exceptional skills and unique flair. Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final 2022 contestant Senzonkosi Bengu (Durban), 2018 Red Bull Dance Your Style champion Teboho Diphehlo (Johannesburg), and Zoe Aldridge (Cape Town) have all seized the opportunity to prove their dance supremacy.
Adding another layer of intensity to the competition are the runners-ups, Dugulth Ferreira (Port Elizabeth), Kgomotso Marite (Cape Town), Virgill Lucas (Bloemfontein), and Tyler Botha (Cape Town) have proven their resilience and capabilities as they secured a position in the National Final.
The street style competition embraced the influence of online engagement, where the online entries category welcomes dancers who have exhibited their talents through digital platforms. Katiso Mochela and Sinenhlanhla Hlope (Johannesburg) have not only showcased their skills online but have also earned a place amongst the finalists.
