The ‘Nani’ hitmaker Abigail Chams releases a new single ‘Milele’ on Thursday September 14th to launch an EP ‘5’ dropping on September 29th, giving it a 2-week period between the pre-order and release. ‘Milele’ which translates to ‘forever’ from Kiswahili, is an Afro sound of love. It is a song speaking of a journey from falling in love at first encounter to remaining in love with one man, poetically expressed in Kiswahili. One verse when translated to English from the song is as follows:

 

” The truth is, I was drawn to you I still don’t know your character and my heart is happy with you, but I have faith that you have love.”

Since the release of ‘Nani’ in March 2023 which features Marioo, Abigail Chams has not released, allowing the single to certify her footprint in the music industry. The single has thus far garnered 1.3 million streams globally. It is still championing playlists such as ‘Hot Hits Tanzania’ on Spotify and ‘Top 100: Kenya’ on Apple Music. The club banger, ‘Nani?’ which means “who?” in Kiswahili was the first single from Abigail Chams’s EP ‘5’; ‘Nani ?’ premiered at the Dotty Show in March 2023.

About Abigail Chams

Abby Chams, née Abigail Chamungwana is a talented songstress and multi-instrumentalist based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Music has always been an integral part of her life, and aside from singing in Swahili, French and English, she mastered four musical instruments; the violin, piano, guitar and drums.

Abigail has already begun garnering a steady audience; she has collaborated with some of the biggest names in Tanzanian music like Rayvanny, Mimi Mars, and Rosa Ree.

She has also sung the national anthem at some of the biggest football games in the country. Abby founded a program called Teen Talks with Abby Chams, a platform for the youth in Tanzania to discuss issues they face.

In 2020, Abby was appointed as a UNICEF Youth Advocate for Mental Health and Gender-Based Violence and was hosted on the popular American show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Currently, Abby is working on a self-titled EP Abigail, she 's collaborated and artistes like Harmonize and Blxckie in a bid to show her true essence to the world and share a memorable record that will make a distinct etch on the Afrobeats scene.
