Nkosazana – Idloz’ Lami EP

The African Princess Nkosazana brings us back to our roots with her Idloz’ Lami EP, we learn the importance of praying to God and remembering our ancestors who always provide what we ask from them. This project takes you to a different realm, elevating your soul giving the spiritual awakening needed to the listener, an EP of gratitude and thanks, a praise to God and ancestors.

The lead single from this beautiful 6 track EP is Sivusa Abalele, this single is a tribal beat that is a combination of traditional house music with other elements, a similar structure to deep house with a dab of ethnic and indigenous musical instruments or sounds. Our next most loved single with over 1,5 million YouTube views is Idloz’ Lami, we often ask God and our ancestors for guidance in times of need, but we rarely give thanks for when those cries are heard and prayers are answered. The harmonious Nkosazana becomes the mediating voice between us and our ancestors as we express gratitude with the loved single.

Izindaba is the third track from the EP, a song that showcases Nkosazana’s ability to stretch her vocal capabilities. The songstress just shows off how good she is with her bold and commanding voice; in layman’s terms the vocalist is flexing on us. Track 4 is Phanda Phusha, a sound different from what she usually offers showing how versatile she is. On this track she fully shows us how much of a talent she is which is a link as well with Themba Lami, she gives us a RnB feel with beautiful lyrics for your favourite person. The last track which is Ndonyamezela, this is the beautiful ribbon tie to the amazing gift Nkosazana has blessed us with, a song that still directs us to never forget God with everything we do and all that he has done for us, we need to be patient.

Nkosazana takes pride in being African and she celebrates her talents by showing gratitude to her ancestors, she is heard saying “I was born to sing, I am a natural born performer, ngiyagida futhi and I love it”, this is her way of celebrating her African heritage by singing and doing African dances commonly known in South Africa asukugida.

 Siyabulela! Nkosazana.
