AKA Takes ‘Mass Country’ to New Heights with Best Engineered Album Award

 

The late AKA has once again demonstrated his musical prowess by clinching the prestigious award for Best Engineered Album at SAMA 29. His exceptional work on "Mass Country" has not only captivated audiences but also earned critical acclaim for its engineering excellence.

 

Proud of Mass Country’s achievements, this is what the engineer, Robin Kohl, had to say:

 

“Kiernan was always so proud of his materials, sonic identity and often mused that he was the best sounding rapper in the history of SA hip-hop.

I had never met someone so obsessed with detail, which made our relationship simultaneously hard and rewarding. 4 albums together and a relationship of over 10 years, this win is bittersweet and is our proudest mutual moment. Elaine, the visionary artist, and recent recipient of the Best Produced Music Video award has carved an indelible mark on the music scene. 'Shine' stands out not only for its musical brilliance but also for the compelling narrative brought to life through its music video.

 

 

DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small Claim DUO/GROUP OF THE YEAR For Their Collaborative Effort; Scorpion Kings Live Arena

 

The dynamic duo, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, also known as The Scorpion Kings, were honoured with the prestigious 'Duo/Group of the Year' award at the recent South African Music Awards (SAMAs 29). The event, held at the SunBet Arena on the 18th of November 23, celebrated the exceptional talents and contributions of artists across various genres.

 

This recognition further solidifies the duo's undeniable influence and dominance in the Amapiano space, a demonstration to the profound impact of the duo’s collaborative efforts.

Tobetsa hit maker and amapiano rising star, Myztro, has achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving the prestigious Best Newcomer award at the esteemed SAMAs. Myztro has been at the forefront of setting dance floors a blaze with a series of chart-topping hits and collaborations with industry icons, solidifying his position as a force within the Amapiano genre.

 

“I was never mindful of the words "thapelo di landile" when in essence it was a manifestation of everything great and powerful that is becoming. To the first of many , special gratitude to everyone who keeps believing in me more than anything to the good Lord who keeps giving even when I didn't know it's needed.

Kabza De Small’s exceptional talent shined throughout the night as he claimed Best Amapiano and Best Produced Album for KOA II Part 1.

K.O received the SAMRO Highest Airplay Composer Award and is honoured with the CAPASSO Most Streamed Song Award.

 

A testament to the song's popularity on the airwaves, highlighting his exceptional talent as a composer. In addition, the artist was honoured with the CAPASSO Most Streamed Song Award, acknowledging 'Sete' as the most streamed track during the qualifying period.

 

'Sete' emerged as a cultural phenomenon, captivating audiences with its unique sound and powerful lyrics. The song's success is not only evident in its domination of the South African music scene but also in its widespread reception throughout the entire continent of Africa.
