SPREAD THE LOVE & SAY IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT WITH CADBURY P.S

“Be happy with being you. Love your flaws. Own your quirks.” - Ariana Grande

Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love through generous little extras that deepen connection. Cadbury P.S. is embracing this tradition, but shifting the focus to celebrate self-love using the power of affirmation.

“Self-love is the most important love. There are so many ways to express it but Cadbury P.S. is encouraging you to use the most powerful of them all - words! We are South Africa’s original messaging bar, and our message this Valentine’s Day is asking you to #SayItLikeYouMeanIt through words of affirmation for yourself and others.”  Says Lara Sidersky, Mondelez SA Category Lead for Chocolate.

Today’s youth is growing up in an age of anxiety. *49% are feeling anxious and stressed most, if not all, of the time. They are living in a disconnected world of isolation and pressure that amplifies the bully in their head. This leads to a yearning for words of encouragement and messages of support to help navigate uncertainties and stress.

“We recognise this and want to put the power back in their hands by amplifying affirmations that encourage self-love, uplift and deepen positive connections. For Valentine’s Day, chocolate lovers can share a Cadbury P.S. bar with our iconic affirmations as well as join the conversation on social media to encourage others.

We hope these generous little expressions create a ripple effect of positivity for the youth. And to further encourage this, we’re giving away some awesome prizes to those who harness the power of words,” adds Sidersky.

SELF-LOVE OVERCOMES BULLIES

We are living in a digital world where *71% of parents feel cyberbullying needs special attention and that more can be done to combat its effects amongst teens. “Cyberbullying is prevalent because it’s easy to hide behind an online profile, often young people are so unaware of the impact of their actions and there really are no prerequisites or boundaries for those affected by cyberbullying,” says Cyber Safety & Cyber Wellness Author and founder of anti-cyberbully platform SaveTNet, Rianette Leibowitz.

In addition to the awesome prizes the #SayItLikeYouMeanIt initiative aims to take a stand against cyberbullying by encouraging our youth to flip the script and replace the negative and harmful words that often fill our screens with positivity and expressions of self-love.

Leibowitz adds, “Fingers are weapons that we can use to either break someone’s heart or make their day. Our youth are impacted by the environment around them and they need positive influencers that help them stay grounded. Ultimately, encouraging them to know their self-worth, increase self-acceptance and improve self-esteem. Those are the selfies we want to see more of.”

Join Cadbury P.S. this Valentine’s Day - manifest your words of affirmation, express self-love, encourage others and share selfies that positively impact the world around us.
