Soweto Theatre officially Launches the Iconic Jabulani Amphitheatre with  the “Legends Tribute" with Hotstix


Soweto Theatre brings you “Legends Tribute with Hotstix” on September 25 from 3PM till late. Some of the world’s most celebrated performers will be live on the newly renovated  Iconic Jabulani Amphitheatre stage with the show serving as the official launch of the Amphitheatre.

Legends tribute will feature the most incredible Mam'Abigail Kubeka, Babsy Mlangeni, Pj Powers, Soul Brothers, Pappa and Blondie and Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse who are set to give audience a live musical spectacular that brings the nostalgia of 80’s music and party anthems back into style. Powerful vocals, amazing harmonies and world-class musicians recreate the 80’s era in all its glory.

The tribute is a fitting occasion forming part of Soweto Theatres 10 year celebration seasoned programme since marking a 10 year milestone on 25 May 2022. The Legends Tribute enshrines each star’s legacy allowing fans a chance, once again, to enjoy the majesty of their world-renowned performances. The concert will be a reflective musical journey of South African music legends by the legends and the extent to which the musicians on the line-up have been inspired by paying tribute to other legends in the music industry.

Mam'Abigail Kubeka: The lifetime Achievement Award winner is a singer, songwriter and actress with an effortless voice that will leave you mesmerised. Mam'Abigail will take you back in time with hits such as Love Train, Yini Madodaand many more.

PJ Powers: Also affectionately dubbed as Thandeka, returns to the stage with her truly remarkable voice, idolised by millions of fans around the world.  She is best known for her hit songs such as Jabulani, Feel so strong and There is an answer.

Babsy Mlangeni: Preserves the timeless tradition of South African Roots music as a songwriter and as an entertainer with legendary hits like Sala Emma, O Rapele Kgalemang and Come a little closerjust to name a few.

Soul Brothers: With over 30 albums over 30 years, the Soul Brothers have paved the way for a lot of mbaqanga musicians, they have performed to action packed shows all across the country with hits songs such as Isilingo, Bazobuya, Umshado and so much more.

Pappa & Blondie: Full of energy, the most electrifying duo will get you swaying back and forth with songs such Don’t burn your bridges, Tell it all brothers, 24-hour service and Together.

Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse: A legend with many talents, a drummer, saxophonist and composer. A long standing career that has paved the way for so many will keep you on your toes as you groove to his hit songs such as Burn Out, Shikisha, Jive Soweto and let’s get it on are among the many songs that will keep you appreciating great music that feeds the soul.
