WELCOME TO MAKAZANA
WELCOME TO MAKAZANA, AS MAGLERA DOE BOY FINALLY TUNES INTO THE TOWNSHIP WITH VISUALS FOR HIS HIT SONG MAKAZANA
Maglera Doe boy welcomes the world to makazana as he drops visuals for his hit song “Makazana”. The word “makazana” is a variation of the word ‘kasi’ which is known to most as township. The gentleman from Kanana, a township in the North West province, continues the story of his neighborhood giving the public the true story of the township he grew up in. Being proud of the area, he uses his lyrical vocabulary and some visuals to be brutally honest about a day in Maglera.
Popularly known for his “Ntariana” style, a dapper and unique penchant for Italian designer clothing, Maglera Doe Boy uses visual scenes to showcase the livelihood of the people in his ‘hood’ in the most subtle way that needs one to listen to the words of the song to understand what it looks like to live or rather survive, as he would describe it, in Kanana.
This video will most certainly grab your attention from the first few seconds, with the real-life sound audio clip about Maglera Doe Boy’s neighborhood that describes a gruesome crime and the poverty of the township. This is still after many years of democracy. The up-tempo beat has the grimy kick-drum-led beat which brings the gritty sound to life.
