Here’s a taste of the film and TV fare Sony Pictures has in store for 2024


​In the new year, Sony Pictures is proud to bring South African audiences a diverse slate of films and television shows!  

Madame Web 
Genre: Superhero/Psychological thriller  
Release date: February 16, 2024 
 

"Meanwhile, in another universe…” In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures … if they can all survive a deadly present. 
 
The film also stars
Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts and Adam Scott.

In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artefact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.  
 
The film stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

Ten Pound Poms, a period drama series which follows a group of British citizens who migrate to Australia after World War Two, having been promised a better house, better job prospects and a better quality of life for just £10.
