Public online voting commences for the Red Bull Dance Your Style Top 16
The world’s biggest street dance competition, Red Bull Dance Your Style announced the top 25 dancers who stand a chance at representing South Africa in this global competition that will be held in Johannesburg at the end of the year. The public now has the power to vote for their favourite dancer, on the Red Bull Dance Your Style website, to take part in the national final in Cape Town on 23 October. The national final will see the Top 16 best dancers in South Africa battle it out to represent South Africa at the world final on 4 December.
The dancers competing for the national spot to represent South Africa are a culmination of those who battled it out at different stops of the Red Bull Dance Your Style roadshow and online entries. The Red Bull Dance Your Style auditions stops and roadshow highlighted the impact of the South African dance culture through a series of dance workshops hosted by influential dancers across various forms of movement styles such as krumping, pantsula, sbujwa, hip hop, waacking, contemporary and more.
In this next round, Red Bull Dance Your Style gives the audience the power to select the best South African street dancer through an online voting system which enables each person a vote for their two favourite dancers each. The National Final will also feature five wildcard entries which will be revealed in due course. Six dancers from the Top 25 voting round will compete at the national final once voting closes.
The regional winners namely Adonis (Johannesburg), Absialom (Polokwane), Kyle Adams (Gqeberha), Verb (Durban) and Delly (Cape Town) automatically earned a spot to compete at the national final taking place on 23rd October in Cape Town.
