Mpho.Wav releases a new track every-Friday in the build up to his debut album Book of Wav
Mpho.Wav behind the rollout for his debut album Book of Wav with his first single Atmos Wav I.
Atmos Wav is an electrifying collaboration between Mpho.wav and Atmos Blaq, born out of a spontaneous and joyful creative session. The track has already caught the attention of top house music icons, including Sun-EL Musician, Kid Fonque, Darque, Citizen Deep, and Malumz On Decks. Since its release, this exclusive gem has been creating a buzz, resonating across the streets and setting dance floors alight.
His next single Bilkeuy is out September 20th in the build up to the album will feature Nyamal Nyang who sings in Nuer, a language spoken in the Upper Nile region of South Sudan, adding Pan-African resonance and taking listeners on a magical sonic journey through sound. The Two met while Mpo.Wav was touring in Kenya, and this unique song was born.
Book of Wav will be a debut Album for Mpho.wav. Each track is a chapter, unfolding Mpho.Wav’s story with intricate detail and profound emotion. Musician and producer Mpho Mohlong, known artistically as Mpho.Wav, continues to dazzle the music scene with his innovative, groovy sound and captivating collaborations in Afro-house and 3 step. Hailing from the township of Orange Farms and spending his formative years in the Vaal Triangle, Mpho.Wav's passion for music ignited at the tender age of 14.
Beginning his musical journey as a drummer and pianist in church, he quickly evolved into a sought-after session musician, working with renowned Smooth Jazz Fusion and Gospel artists.
Mpho.Wav’s foray into music production began when a friend introduced him to digital production tools, igniting his exploration of sound. His talent flourished as he joined the El World Music collective (Newly titled Africa To The World Agency) created by mentor and friend Sun-El Musician, where he contributed as a session musician and music producer, collaborating with celebrated artists under the collective.
Among these and others he collaborated and produced some powerful hits with Msaki, Nobuhle, Azana, Kenza, Sun-El Musician, Mörda and more.
